Forth Solar is a trading name of MPS Custom Builds Ltd, a Scottish company run by people who have spent their working lives on roofs, in lofts and behind consumer units.
Why we started fitting solar on the east coast
We have designed, built and fitted bespoke work in Scottish homes for years, with our own joiners, electricians and fitters. When we sized and built an off-grid solar and battery system for our own workshop, we saw how solar is usually sold to homeowners: a long presentation, a discount that expires tonight, a price range instead of a price, and a deposit taken before anyone has looked at the roof. We thought people in Edinburgh, the Lothians and Fife would rather have a drawing, a number and a date.
How we work
Every system is designed by us for your roof and your usage. Every install is done by our own roofers and electricians, not a subcontracted crew, which is how we manage one-day installs and stand behind a 5-year workmanship guarantee. All installations are commissioned and certified through our MCS-registered partner, so you qualify for Smart Export Guarantee payments.
Where we are
We work out of Livingston, ten minutes off the M8 and central for the Lothians and Fife. Edinburgh, Musselburgh, Dunfermline, Kirkcaldy, Falkirk and Stirling are daily runs. Dundee, Perth, Angus, Aberdeenshire, Moray, Inverness and the Borders are covered on planned installation trips, usually two or three jobs in the same area over consecutive days.
